The doctors and staff at Garland Animal Clinic are proud to provide state of the art diagnostic and medical services for your pets. A large part of what we do each day is involved with medical services. From a good thorough physical exam and history, to advanced diagnostic services our team is passionate about providing excellent medical care.

Intravenous fluid therapy, a wide variety of injectable medication, pain management, blood transfusions, oxygen therapy and warm comfortable cages all allow us to provide appropriate medical care for your pets. Our new ICU suite offers a quite place for hospitalized patients to receive care.

Each case requires individual assessment and planning and we involve you in the decision making process by keeping you informed of all the recommended tests, results, treatment plan and costs. In critical cases we work closely with the Pet Emergency Center to provide 24 hour care if needed.

Diagnostic Services

Diagnostic Services

Our state of the art in house lab and diagnostics include CBC, Full Chemical Profiles with Electrolytes, Urinalysis, Cytology, Blood Glucose Curves, Digital Radiography, Endoscopy, Ultrasound, Blood Pressure Monitors and Otoscopes and Ophthalmascopes. In addition, we have readily available CT, Ultrasound and other advanced imaging capabilities through our extensive referral network.

When additional testing is required we utilize the services of outside labs such as Antech Diagnostics, Heska Allergy Screening, Washington State University and University of Minnesota. We also take pride in our use of local labs such as Panhandle Animal Laboratory and Clinical Pathology Services.

Along with our resource network of veterinary specialists and universities we can assure you that we can get the most available and up to date information on all of our diagnostic workups. All of our digital radiographs are reviewed by veterinary radiologists. We often consult with surgical and internal medicine specialists, both locally and at Washington State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital, to ensure we are providing the best care available.

Surgery

Surgery

Our anesthetic and surgical services are a cornerstone of our practice. We continuously strive to provide the latest in anesthesia and pain management protocols. Our anesthetic services are very safe and medically sound. We provide continuous monitoring of anesthesia such as SPO2, heart rate, respiration rate, EKG, blood pressure, and temperature. We pride ourselves in the appropriate use drug combinations that allow for excellent anesthetic safety. Many clients are amazed at how well their pets do after anesthesia. Our pain management protocols allow for better recovery and greater comfort.

We provide an extensive array of surgical services. From spays and neuters, to a variety of soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries, our doctors pride themselves in their ability to provide great quality surgical care. Other surgical services include oral, trauma, tumor removal and oncology (cancer) surgery. Our referral network offers advanced orthopedic and specialty surgeries.

Our LASER surgical unit also provides an additional level of care. It is a state of the art instrument that allows us to seal nerve endings and blood vessels during surgery. This optional service means less bleeding and better post surgical pain control for your pets.

Dentistry

Dentistry

Oral health care is a very important part of your pets’ overall well-being. Like people, cats and dogs have a constant battle to prevent and control plaque and tartar buildup, and tooth decay.

We provide all levels of oral health care such as preventative care, ultrasonic scaling, polishing, extractions, and dental radiographs.

Dentals are performed weekdays, usually in the morning, and pets go home in the afternoon. Pain management and antibiotics are often prescribed when pets have a significant degree of dental disease or need extractions.

Preventative maintenance and good prophylactic dental care can help ensure your pet lives a long healthy life. Please ask us about our anesthesia free vs anesthetized dental assessment and cleanings to determine which is the best choice for your pet.

Laser therapy can alleviate pain, reduce inflammation, and accelerate recovery from a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. Laser therapy is a scientifically proven, drug-free, surgery-free technique to help make that goal a reality.
